No.

Have you ever asked someone to pray for you
or has anyone ever asked you to pray for him/her?

Same concept, sort of.

The question we should be asking is, "Can Mary hear us?"

Clearly, the Church (when I use that word with a capital "C", I mean Catholic) believes that to be so.

That part I don't quite understand yet.
But I accept it.

Questions?

Yea its called fellowship and prayer with others strengthens relationships with others and God. When you pray to a dead person, that is underestimating God's abilities. It's also a lot like idolotry.

You'll have to clarify this one.
We established that nobody is praying TO anyone, right?

WHAT'S a lot like idolatry?
"......pray for us sinners..." <---FOR us, to whom?
To God.
All things go through God, obviously.

Like I said, the question here is NOT about praying to Mary.
That's simply not happening.
The question is whether or not she can hear us asking her to pray for us.

Know what I mean?

Hey, by the way, if any of this pisses you off, you don't have to post here.
It's supposed to be a way for us to explore theological issues.
I don't NEED to talk about this, and I don't want these things to come between us.
It's supposed to be fun, yo!
